The Kadazan Dusun Story
Before I go for my next challenge question, I would like to share this documentary trailer of The Kadazan Dusun Story: Through the eyes of a people. Thanks to fellow friend Flanegan who shared this on Facebook earlier, I found this trailer fascinating and produced in such high quality standard. This documentary is made by Vinoun Films.
Coming soon, May 28, 2012….
Wait-wait, Through the eyes of a people, “a people”?
Well, here’s an explanation from VF on Facebook,
Since this has created much debate among a few, we are obliged to leave you with an explanation. The noun PEOPLE has both a singular sense and plural sense.
In the plural sense, it refers to more than one person. However, in the singular sense, it refers to all the CHILDREN, MEN and WOMEN of a particular group. So, through The Eyes of A People is not wrong. Alternatively, you could also say The Peopling of The World or A People’s History of The United States.
I hope this has cleared up the issue for you guys. And, if ever a time comes when you read a title that uses People in a similar way again, you won’t have to point out that they made a grammatical error 🙂

Like the mist of dawn, these stories will one day escape me when I die, and never reached the ears of my children. I see my elders holding on to what their elders passed down, and so, I know that we owe it to them to continue the legacy. Now we ask you… hear our stories.
