The Holiday Special artworks

Its the 26th of December, half an hour past 12AM when I’m writing this blog entry. Neighbour continues karaoke-ing at this hour, but with a more sentimental songs like “Are you lonesome tonight”. The mist forming the surrounding area at my home, giving a cool effect for the night.

During school holidays (many-many years ago) I always love to do artwork projects, dubbed School Break Special or Holiday Special. This is how I got better in each and every artworks I’ve made, eventually getting a hang on my own unique stroke. The theme varies on each project, it may be referenced from an anime, movie or just about anything. Earlier on Monday, I scanned a few of my artworks, 3 of them was made during my art nickname was Itomaru.

#1: Final Fantasy X-II: Yuna & Friends

Point of reference: GEMPAK magazine

I never played the game before at that time, so I imagine myself what could really have happened in the game. Tidus resurrected, Wakka have a hots on Yuna’s new look? costume swap? or a surprised Kimahri? 😛

#2: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Point of Reference: The movie’s poster I saw in GEMPAK magazine.

I kinda did well with drawing Gandalf and Saruman as close as possible to the real ones, and the others… well… Especially Gollum since I only took reference on the movie poster and not from the actual footage in the movie.

#3: Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket

Point of reference: character design and RX78NT1-Alex mobile suit design from GEMPAK magazine.

I kinda forgot, did I reference this from the original artwork/poster or I made it up by myself. Anyway, this anime movie was one of my favorite ones during that time.

Meanwhile, I have successfully fix my old Canon Pixma IP1000 back to near optimal running condition. You know what thats mean? I can now proceed my custom postcard project now!

This.. is gonna be exciting. 🙂
