Sunset Music Fest 2014: Musical experience at the great outdoors

SUnset Music Fest at Tip of Borneo, Tanjung Simpang Mengayau

Feels like its been a long time since I last got to Sunset Music Fest, at Tip of Borneo, Tanjung Simpang Mengayau. I missed the chance last year due to some difficulties, but not this time! I am really looking forward to go for this event. There is so much things I wanted to see apart from the event itself.

I went to the event’s first press conference in June 12, 2014 at Le Meridien Hotel, to get the new info about this year’s Sunset Music Fest. Sunset Music Fest this year features a line up of international and local acts performing a broad repertoire of music and songs. This feature itself is one of the main attraction about the event, so both local and international tourist can enjoy along during the show.

Performing at the most unconventional of venues can be an unforgettable and memorable experience for both musicians and audience. The audiences will enjoy a repertoire of performances by Syafinaz Selamat, Rhytm of Borneo, Gee Mojina, Christopher Aban, Rey Kimara, Fingerstyle, Francis Landong, Joe Balanjui Jr., Gedion Hilarius, Den Bisa, and Rosario Ninih. The Philippines Pop Orchestra, Philpops, a special feature in this event brought in exclusively by Rumah Terbalik, will also be performing in the event.

Handicraft, souvenir, food and drinks are also set up on both days. During the two-day event, access to the venue and its surroundings, which include the pathway from the parking lot to the globe, will be open to the ticket holders only from 3:00PM to 10:00PM

The Philpops at Sunset Music Fest 2014

Another Sunset Music Fest press conference was held yesterday, June 19, 2014, specially featuring the musical group, Philpops.

Philpops was founded by Adolfo ‘Pong’ Mendoza back in 2003. This crossover classical and pop orchestra concept attracts a large group of excellent young musicians and professional musicians who love to play together out of passion for music and camaraderie. It is also an avenue for musicians to showcase their talents and promote the excellence of Filipino artists in the local and international scene.

And here’s a preview of whats will be performed by Philpops at the event, it was wonderful to listen to the music, I really love it.

And here’s some photos I took on previous Sunset Music Fest/The Tip of Borneo Music Fest, back in 2011 and 2012;
