Before The Sims: The 3D House
Randomly browsing my Backup folder, I stumbled upon a 3D house I made back in my college days. After looking at the final work images, I was amazed at my past self, “Did I really made this?”
I totally forgot which class I took when we was told to make a house model as our assignment. But all of us was fired up to make the best house ever. From shapes, textures and the house details, it was a very fun assignment to work on.
Did you hear that? “Fun” students dread about assignment, but we are totally in it.
The house itself lacks the roof and some walls, because it was meant to be build as a model display.
We were allowed to have pre-rendered 3D items such as coffee maker, Coke can, or anything smaller. So we got a website which have a lot of pre-rendered items that can be downloaded and get some good stuff.
The lighting played a big part of rendering this 3D house too, if not, it will look very dark. The textures was also obtained online, for doors, windows, floor tiles, you name it.
With the exception of the small things in the house, I made everything from scratch, combining different types of shapes together.
Notice that I Photoshopped a photo of me with a popular Japanese artist, Tommy February6/Tomoko Kawase to act as my waifu. My lecturer chuckled when he saw this, oh well…
Why Tommy February6? I love her song, Lonely in Gorgeous at that time, besides, she’s very cute with the glasses.
Years after that, I started playing The Sims 2 and subsequently The Sims 3, and I love making the 3D house again.
I’m not fat. My stomach is just in 3D.
