The month of October is the month for INKtober!
I realized about this event in the middle of the day on 1st October. It was quite interesting so I looked up for some info on the interwebs and get started that night.
INKtober was created by an illustrator based in Utah, USA named Jake Parker in 2009. What began as a personal challenge has now evolved globally as many artist joined in to take the challenge every year.
Day 1 artwork was good enough for warming up, its been a long time since I do artworks. Here are the simple rules taken from Jake Parker’s website;
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it on your blog (or tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)
3) Hashtag it with #inktober
Simple right? But making one is not really that simple, especially when my skills are rusted. But that is the whole point of the existence of this challenge, to improve drawing/inking skills.
As Jay put it, “INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.”
I’ll be posting my progress on my social accounts, now back to my drawing board! 🙂
Now go make something beautiful ~ Jay Parker
