DIY negative film scanning: First try
I was supposed to do my P1 Sabah launch entry, but when I got this overwhelming urge to experiment something, I forget about everything else. I’m experimenting my own spontaneous DIY negative film scanning, using a negative film, DSLR camera and a good backlight.
Since the ceiling light is being a scumbag and not turning on, my room became the Darkroom for tonight. I grab the memory suitcase and find all of the old negative that was being kept, I just set my phone camera light on, position the negative film between the light source and my camera, snap! snap! snap!
After a few editing and conversion, these are the results…
This is actually taken by me, our class was having a study tour to F&N Kolombong. I think the year was 1997. I used a very badly scratched translucent plastic as back cover, hence the scratched effect.
These are from my dad’s,
Photo is unclear, but how do I know that guy is my dad? Easy, dark skin and same pose that I always do. 😉
And here’s another one,
This one was from my dad’s uncle I believe,
Notice the white ghost on the left? thats my fingers, since this is a black & white photo, it turns out just nice, I just have to adjust it a bit.
Same goes for this photo too, another black & white. I don’t know who she is, but she’s kinda cute. 🙂
That is all for this entry, I know that all of these reproduction are hastily done. Next time I’m gonna improve or change the method, and I’m gonna produce it as perfect as I can next time.
