DiGi 4G LTE: Ada sudah di Sabah!
DiGi Telecommunications (DiGi) expanded their 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/ Long-Term Evolution) coverage to Sabah, with their official launch event that took place on November 28, 2014 at Suria Sabah.
As demand for internet connectivity became even greater nowadays, it is important to have a faster connection and better coverage to keep up with those demands. And now, Sabahans can enjoy internet connection speed up to 10x faster with DiGi’s 4G LTE network.
Y.Bhg Datuk Bruno Vun, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology, was present to officiate the launching. Also present was Christian Thrane, DiGi’s Chief Marketing Officer, K Juslly, Director of SKMM Sabah and FT Labuan, Loh Keh Jiat, DiGi’s Chief Sales Officer and Prasanna Rao, DiGi’s Acting Head of Sabah Region.
Event started by a simple introductory by the emcee, followed by speeches from Mr. Loh Keh Jiat and Datuk Bruno Vun. DiGi CEO, Lars Norling also joined the launching event via live video call,
And its officially launched!
It was mentioned that Sabah is among the highest data users on DiGi network. Mr Loh Ken Jiat hopes with the introduction of 4G LTE, customers will see great difference in faster HD video and music streaming, downloads and much more. DiGi is also rolling out a wide-range of LTE plans paired with the latest suite of LTE-enabled devices, to fit different customer usage patterns.
With that being said, DiGi’s 4G LTE coverage in Kota Kinabalu will reach 84% by year end, with coming expansions to Tawau and Labuan in Sabah, and Kuching and Miri in Sarawak.
A three-day DiGi roadshow was also held starting from the launching day, where visitors could check out the power of 4G LTE connection speed through streaming media and gaming demo that has been set up.
