Day Trip at Bunga Raya Island Resort & Spa
Everyone loves an island getaway, even for just one day. Imagine yourself lounging and having fun under the sun to escape the stress of daily routine. But where you can find a good island getaway package, that brings great value to you? The answer lies at Bunga Raya Island Resort & Spa Day Trip, the sister resort of Gayana Eco Resort in Gaya Island.
For only RM145 for adult and RM95 for children below 4, you can get one of the best island getaway experience ever. Let me tell you what you will get, as I recount my own story the day trip I had last Saturday…
It all began at the resort’s office at Jesselton Point, where a special day trip was arranged for the us bloggers (Me, Charlotte, Calista, Eric, Meitzeu, Chloe, Diana Teo, Margaret, Sherrie and the Breeze team) to experience. We departed from the jetty around 10AM via speedboat, and its not long before we arrived at the beautiful secluded island resort.
The resort was such a beautiful sight, the water was crystal clear that you can see a school of small fishes swimming around.
We were greeted by Lizio who introduces all of us about Bunga Raya Resort. Making way to one end of the jetty, we were greeted by the sweet smile of the staff. The resort which houses a total of 52 wooden villas is a preferred choice for European tourist going to Sabah.
We then go for a buggy ride to explore the vast beauty of the resort, living up to its name, the resort is home to more than 40 species of Bunga Raya (Hibiscus Rosasinesis).
With much beautiful scenery, this resort can be a nice place for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Wildlife is also abundant, Pied Hornbill are common in this area, we caught a glimpse of it while on our buggy ride tour.
Ah, the beautiful panoramic view of the infinite pool overlooking the vast ocean.
They have a few spa packages here at Solace Spa including the signature package, Bamboo Massage. But this is not included in the day trip package so extra charges applies if you would like to request one.
We also came across a vast collection of wines at the Wine Cellar, just below The Koi restaurant, a place where they serve local and fusion cuisines. Price per bottle ranges from RM120 to RM35000.
Here’s the thing, if you are on a day trip for special occasion like anniversary or birthday celebration, you can actually buy the wine here to complement the occasion you’re having.
We later have our lunch at Pantai Grill, a laidback oceanfront dining outlet, available for lunch and is open until sunset. Here are the menu for our lunch,
We were greeted by the resort’s General Manager, Tomas K. Andersen and the chef. We had a good chat with Tomas while we are served lunch.
We did have the chance to see how the pizza was made using this custom made oven, it cooks pretty quick!
I really love the dessert, Peppermint Pannacota, I enjoyed eating it bit by bit.
Before going for our beach fun time, we were given the chance to see one of the villas, which is the Plunge Pool Villa. Spacious bedroom with complete amenities and also a private pool outside.
Its beach fun time! In the day trip package, you get free usage of kayaking and snorkeling gear while other activities are chargeable.
Around the snorkeling area you can view the beautiful corals. You can also go diving to view the giant clams up close and if you are lucky enough, you may even see a school of barracudas.
The day trip concluded around 3PM, everyone was satisfied, one hinted that she will come back again another day.
I would like to thank the management of Bunga Raya Island Resort & Spa for the day trip opportunity their hospitality along the day trip. It was indeed a great experience for me and I believe it is worth the money. Be sure to contact them if you would like a day trip tailored to suit your needs.and
